Doogie Howser, M.D. has nothing on kids these days. One student (14 years and older) will be able to observe all the excitement of an operating room. That may mean fixing broken bones, releasing trapped nerves, fixing arthritis, replacing damaged joints, or any other number of interesting cases during the day. If your child is interested in a medical career or just wants a unique experience, this is the package for you!

Is your child passionate about the scientific process as well as pursuing and sharing knowledge? Your Sycamore student (Seventh or Eighth Grade) or graduate will have the opportunity to get involved in an orthopedic research investigation. Though not guaranteed, these projects lead in many cases to publications. If published, your child's name will be included as an author.

You don't need to go overseas to have a once in a lifetime chance to get up close and personal with an elephant. Guests will visit the elephant barn where they will meet with keepers, learn about the world's largest mammals, and witness why the Indianapolis Zoo is a leader in elephant care. The visit will conclude with an opportunity for guests to watch a training session and finally to pet and take pictures with the elephant! This experience is open to all ages, but significant walking is necessary to reach the barn. Ten people maximum are allowed and at least one adult must be present. Tours are available Monday - Friday and the certificate expires March 31, 2026.
